Presentation: Quantitative [18F]PEG-Folate PET/CT for Early Assessment of Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor Therapy Efficacy in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients
Focusing on early treatment evaluation in inflammatory diseases, Wouter van den Heijden presented his work on the use of quantitative [18F]PEG-Folate PET/CT imaging to assess the efficacy of anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF) therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. This approach targets macrophage-driven inflammation, enabling detailed visualisation and quantification of inflammatory activity in affected joints. By providing early insights into treatment response, this imaging technique has the potential to support more timely clinical decision-making and optimise therapeutic strategies. The study contributes to improving personalised treatment approaches by identifying responders and non-responders at an early stage, reducing unnecessary treatment burden and improving patient outcomes.
